The Chattanooga City Council wants to put in effect a piece of legislation that will hinder the growth of event, concerts, and gatherings that I and a group of people active in the Chattanooga Nightlife community have worked on for the past 2 years.

This new legislation will require any events that have over 50 people and goes over 11PM to submit an application 30 days ahead of time, pay a permit fee, and apply for security, cops, and so forth. Which in turn will raise the prices on you, stop us from putting together amazing concerts, and make Chattanooga what it was 2 years ago. A borefest.

I am making a call to action for anyone who loves or is involved with the Chattanooga nightlife scene to stand up and have your voice heard at City Council. WE CANNOT let this happen.

This is serious business, guys. The meeting to discuss issues pertaining to this little doozy is next Tuesday, May 11th, 3:00 PM, at the city council building located at 1000 Lindsay St. For more information, visit the Facebook even page.

Seriously, if this passes, it will effectively kill the underground music scene in Chattanooga. If you can’t make it to the meeting, please find a way to make your voice heard.

This Friday, April 2nd, I’ll be having my first gallery show at the grand reopening of Leo’s Handmade Gallery! They’ve got a bigger and brand new shop up on Frazier Ave, between The North Shore Grill and All Things Groovy. They’re sharing the space with Young Monster so it’s almost like the Bradjolina of Chattanooga arts and craftspeople. Zach and Gabe from Discoteca will be spinnin’ records, I’ll have hundreds of party and fine art prints for sale, and there’s gonna be fresh refreshments so pop on by anytime between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm to see what’s up! If you can’t make it opening night, the show will be up all month so you fools have no excuse!

Just a heads up: Chattanooga’s best monthly throwdown is only about two weeks away on April 3rd! This time around the bangers crew is gonna be joined by Rob Threezy from Chicago, IL and Chris Watson from Tuscaloosa, AL.
